Is All Wine Not Vegan?
I hear you ask....
No... Is the simple answer. Not all wines are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Here's why. Many companies use animal-derived ingredients in the fining process of making wine. Some of which are:
♥ Gelatine ♥ Fish bladder (Isinglass) ♥ Blood from an Ox (banned in EU) ♥ Egg whites (albumin) ♥ Caseins (milk protein) Many alternatives are available, although some companies do not use additives, filtering naturally instead. Some companies state on the label of the bottle if they are suitable for vegetarians, but not always state vegan-friendly. Take time to check this out if necessary. Most major supermarkets display on the bottle if it is suitable for vegetarians or vegans, but not always. Check online if you are not sure. Please bear in mind some companies change their ingredients from time to time so always check the label or research first! Happy, safe and sensible drinking to you all.
